Low End Theory @ The Airliner 5/10

For over a decade Low End Theory at the Airliner in DTLA has been a weekly tradition for instrumental hip hop, experimental hip hop and electronic music.  Founded in 2006 by Alpha Pup Record’s own Daddy Kev Low End Theory has provided as breeding ground for emerging and solidified artists of the “beat scene” genre.  Notable artists that have seen their careers launch from the monolithic events include Glitch Mob, Nosaj Thing and the now LA legend and international star Flying Lotus.

Notable residencies and mainstays include founder Daddy Kev, Gaslamp Killer, DJ Nobody and DJ D-Styles, just to name a few.  The multi-leveled and milt-staged venue makes for a night of endless music of varied genres and sub-genres.  The Low End Theory has become an event that highlights the diversity and creativity which makes up the fabric of Los Angeles that locals, transplants, implants, out door plants and power plants alike can all enjoy and experience.  For visitors it’s a treat and for locals/musicians it’s an institution.  A temple of sound and experience that all up and coming beat makers keep it sight as the destination to which they wish to play.  A night at the Low End Theory is a night of inspiration and wonder.
