Planned Parenthood has come under fire from the latest administration to take office and recently received huge budget cuts. Many are up in arms defending Planned Parenthood and have made an effort to produce funding for the hurting organization. 7-inches for Planned Parenthood is just that and proudly announces it is a project aimed to raise funding for the organization. An A-list group of creatives consisting of just to list a few, The Foo Fighters, St. Vincent and Bon Iver, announced the project today, which will record and sell a curated series of 7-inch vinyl records and digital downloads with all proceeds going to Planned Parenthood. The creatives joined together in praise of what the organization does and stands for.
The project will be slowly released in consignments digitally in the next few weeks, as well as an option to preorder the entire project in vinyl. The creative releases will consist of two unique singles accompanied by accompanying exclusive artwork. The singles come as spoken word, music or comedy. The artists have boldly decided to donate their work to represent and generate funds for Planned Parenthood the body that provides reproductive health care to 2.5 million women, men, and young people each year.
The new lawmakers in power are looking to shut down Planned Parenthood an institute that offers many basic health services such as STD testing and treatment, birth control, and life-saving cancer screenings. The group of creatives says this is their response to the threat of Planned Parenthood being shut down. The hurting organization will receive 100% of the proceeds from the sale of 7-inch box set and streams. They hope that this will not only raise money for the organization but also raise awareness. They are hoping it will be a catalyst to bring change within the nation and bring a halt to the lawmaker’s plans.
