Lydia Ainsworth @ The Echo 5/8

The multifaceted Lydia Ainsworth will take aim on Los Angeles on May 8th at The Echo. The singer, composer and producer is fresh off her sophomore album release Darling of the Afterglow and is set to take on the rest of the U.S. during her spring tour.

Born to a singer-songwriter father and a mother who made her living as a set designer Lydia entered this world in a creative atmosphere.  She began playing the cello at the age of 10 and attended the Etobicoke School of the Arts as a teenager in her native town of Toronto, Canada.  After completing her Masters degree in music composition at NYU she began composing scores for student films and eventually landed the score for the full length feature The Woods.  For her first album Right from Real she entered a state of self-imposed isolation in her New York apartment and began recording.  She eventually moved back to Canada where she completed the album and released it through Arbutus Records.  In 2015 the album was a nominee for a Juno award for Electronic album of the year.

Take this time to reflect, observe and appreciate artistry at its finest.  A true curator of the craft, bringing out the honest expression in the form elegant electricity masked in a ghostly sheath.  All black at the wedding and all white at the wake.
