Kate Tempest is not your normal singer, she is something different. Known for her poetry and playwriting, Kate has also been known to rap and sing in her career. The last album Kate Tempest released was in 2016 titled Let Them Eat Chaos. Kate will be performing at Boots and Saddle this month, sure to be a treat for many music fans.
Kate Tempest was born in 1985 in South East London. After getting inspiration from her English teachers, Kate turned her attention to poetry. Kate Tempest went to study at BRIT School for Preforming Arts and Technology as a teen. Kate Tempest graduated from the University of London with a degree in English Literature. Kate would perform at various open mic nights at a record store. After gaining a following in London, Kate would support and open for other bands on tour. Kate Tempest has been known to use her form of poetry in her songs. Kate’s debut album, Everybody Down was released in 2014. The album was well received even earning a nomination for the Mercury Prize. In 2015, Kate Tempest was given the “Soundcheck Award” for her debut album.
Kate Tempest has found a way infuse well-spoken poetry and music. Kate Tempest’s album, Let Them Eat Chaos reached number 28 on UK Albums chart.
