The slow and melodic grunge of the indie-rock band of Madrid, Hinds, is a breath of fresh air and a perfect fit in the indie music scene. In 2011 Carlotta Cosials and Ana García Perrote came together as a duo under the name Deers. They wrote and recorded music only take a year and half long break before the addition of Ade Martin and Amber Grimbergen joined the group in 2014 and subsequently changing their name to Hinds (female deer). This year saw the band take off as they opened for bands such as the Black Lips, The Libertines, and The Vaccines across Europe. Their music was well received by the press and garnered favorable reviews from publications including Pitchfork, Pigeons and Planes, Paste, and DYI. Their debut album “Leave Me Alone” was released in January 2016 opening at #47 on the UK Albums Chart and Oricon Weekly albums chart in Japan.
Joining the Hinds at the Regent Theater on 4/18 will be Chicago based indie rock band Twin Peaks. The five-piece has been together since high school in 2009 and they only show signs of progressing and growing. True to the essence of indie rock and garage-rock, the band’s first album “Sunken” was recorded in lead singer and founder Cadien James’s basement using only two condenser microphones and garage band, the music recording software. Influenced by the likes of The Rolling Stones, Black Lips and the Strokes, Twin Peaks latest release “Down In Heaven” came in 2016. Pitchfork described their sound as “half power chord factory and half winsome power-pop.”
