Chuck Berry’s posthumous album Chuck will be available June 16 via Dualtone. Prior to Berry’s passing on March 18, it was already announced that the album would be his last, and all recording was completed before his death. Yesterday, March 21, the first single from the album was released, which is also Berry’s first single in 40 years.

Titled “Big Boys,” the song features Tom Morello (former guitarist of Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave) and Nathaniel Rateliff of R&B group Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats.

“Big Boys” begins with the same guitar riff as Berry’s famous, timeless single “Johnny B. Goode,” and features more of Berry’s iconic style of classic rock and roll riffs and singing. The song lyrics are a fun glance back to Berry’s childhood, longing to fit in and school dances.

He begins the song singing “When I was just a little boy like you / I wanted to do things the big boys do,” and continues to chronicle his efforts of being like the “big boys” and wooing a girl after a school dance. Listen to the song below:

The single is a great sample of what’s to come within the rest of Chuck, which is Berry’s first album in 38 years since he released Rock It in 1979. According to NPR, Berry had been working on Chuck intermittently since Rock It, including handling a majority of the writing and producing, until his health problems forced him to slow his work down in 2014.

In addition to Morello and Rateliff, the 10-track LP features guest performances by Gary Clark Jr. and Berry’s grandson Charles Berry III. The tracks also include Berry’s longtime backing band, The Blueberry Hill Band, which consists of his son Charles Berry Jr. on guitar and Ingrid Berry on harmonica. The group also features bassist Jimmy Marsala, Pianist Robert Lohr and drummer Keith Robinson.
