Courtney Barnett the Australian musical sensation and Philadelphias Kurt Vile might be joining forces, which would be the singer song writer duo from heaven. We can confidently assume there will be new music from the two due to overwhelming evidence of them spending heaps of time together in the studio. So fans hold onto your britches because this team is expected to deliver hit after hit.

Kurt vile is currently touring in Barnetts stomping grounds Australia, promoting his latest album b’lieve I’m goin down…. The album received a 7.8 from Paste Magazine and gave Kurt the title of “Lord of the lo-fi loafers.” It’s been 2 years since we have heard new releases from Vile. Luckily the duo spent a week together recording in the Newmarket Studios in Northern Melbourne. They were accompanied by in house producer Callum Barter who was seen in an instagram posted by the studio. The studios instagram also posted photos of the two artists singing together backstage at Meeniyan Town Hall. Vile even went as far as to post a photo of him and Barnett with the caption “Thanks , Courtyyy.”

The dou has not given any hint of a release date of any music but it is safe to say there is amazing music on the way. The teams websites refers to the project as a “forthcoming compilation.” There is still no scheduled release date. We do know Barnett is currently working on a follow up to her last album Sometimes I Sit and Think and Sometimes I Just Sit.
