Goldfrapp is back with a brooding new track, “Ocean,” off their upcoming album Silver Eye, and it’s a heavy one.
The core of this song is pounding and industrial, and shows off a darker side of Goldfrapp. Alison Goldfrapp’s vocals even get a dark tone with a somewhat sinister and raspy vocal effect tacked on. It’s a slightly darker track compared to the other Silver Eye single, ‘Anymore,’ and sounds like its ripped straight out of a sci-fi dystopian film.
Silver Eye is scheduled to release at the end of the month on March 31 through Mute Records and will see collaborations from St. Vincent, John Grant, Wild Beasts and several others.
