Jack White Reveals in Interview with The New Yorker He’s Working on New Music in Nashville Apartment Building

Jack White is a jack of all trades for sure. From being a rock star to a producer to working on furniture, he has done it all in and out of the music business. Now he is working on new music in a very new way.

In a recent interview with The New Yorker he revealed that he is working on new music but not quite how you might expect.

Instead of a big bright recording studio, he is using a four track in a small Nashville apartment. He described it as how he would write music of he was laid up from a injury for six weeks which sort of gave him the idea. He pulled up in an alley to a tiny red brick building and found the perfect sized space.

He did not feel the need for giant computers or lots of people to work on the music. He used his tiny apartment and set up a four track player and made his own rules for music creating. In his words he felt that if he made the rules he could bend or break them to make the music that he wants to make. He spends a few hours every day in the quiet of his apartment banging what will hopefully be some fantastic sounds.

It will be exciting to see what the music is going to sound like and if big recording studios will be a thing of the past.
