Punk Rock Trio, The Coathangers, announced a new album titled Parasite that is set to release June 30th, 2017. The album is a call to their original content with more screaming and heavy guitar riffs than their last album Nosebleed Weekend. Front woman Julia Kugel spoke on the album saying, “During the making of our last album, I didn’t want to scream anymore, I just wanted to sing and focus on melody. When we came to this recording, I just wanted to scream and curse.” This is most likely because of a combination of personal and social/political problems. The only song released from the album so far is “Captain’s dead” which from judging the excerpts about the album is a stand-alone pop punk anthem. The song is chorused with strong pop vocals and is immediately catchy. Check the song out below.

The all female punk rock band from Atlanta originally started as four-person band that was known for delivering an extremely fun stage performance. After befriending the Black Lips they began performing more and more shows expanding their audience greatly. The opening gigs for The Black Lips allowed them to catch the attention of indie rock label Die Slaughter Haus Records and Rob’s House Records who would go on to release the bands first album. By 2011 the band had released three records and was touring through out the country and even parts of Europe. For the last years the band has been touring successfully and producing great music along the way.
