A very cool, new soundtrack has emerged; and, get this: its a bunch of radical covers from the 1960’s. New-Jersey native, Brooklyn transplant Sharon Van Etten is just one of the big names featured on the Amazon Prime Video soundtrack for The Man in The High Castle.
According to Consequence of Sound, “The show and the Philip K. Dick book it’s based on are set in the ’60s, and the OST fittingly features songs from that era. Instead of the original versions, however, the songs are covered by modern artists.”
And of course, under the very wise guise of Amazon, genius producer Danger Mouse was brought on board with Sam Cohen to produce and ensure a flawless album.
Van Etten contributes to the “alternate Nazi drama” by way of Skeeter Davis’ “The End of the World”, and the results are anything but. (i.e. Van Etten offers a five-star rated rendition). Amongst Etten’s star-studded contributors is Beck, Angel Olsen and The Shins…just to name a few. Find the Sharon Van Etten cover, and a full track listing below.
