Bonobo @ The Theatre at The Ace Hotel 4/17

One of the greatest and smoothest sound-smiths of our time will be performing at the Theater at the Ace Hotel on Sunday April, 17th.  Bonobo, known for his downtempo and chillwave style of production, has been at it since 1999 when he released his first album “Terrapin.”  In his avoidance of the commercial level of music he remains consistent, respected and is constantly evolving his sound selling out shows across the world.

Much can be said about the quiet success Bonobo has achieved over his career.  With 30 total releases (albums, EPs, singles) his body of work is quite substantial.  This doesn’t include the two DVD’s of live shows and outside production work he’s done with other artists.  His music finds a place in us all with tribal chants, chilling cymbals and churning pianos that give way to visions of relics from another foreign yet familiar place.

Now is always the time and the timeless sounds of Bonobo are always here, there, gone and renewed again in an ever lasting cycle of dreams and journeys.  This journey comes during the Coachella Sideshow series taking place across Los Angeles, warming us all like the southern California sun, prepping us for the days in the desert that remain real then slowly dissipate out of sight like a quixotic oasis.
