Future Islands and S U R V I V E @ Pappy & Harriet’s 4/20

Future Islands certainly has a riveting story as to how the name came to be.  Actually, in the words of co-founder William Cashion “The boring truth” is that the band was deciding between “Already Islands” and “Future Shoes.”  They combined the two together and Future Islands was officially born.  Touring since 2006, Future Islands has been electrifying crowds with their synthpop bass lines and dead splash snare rhythms.  Their latest single “Ran” which became available to stream on February 1 has been making it’s rounds ahead of the 2017 album release “The Far Field.”

Joining Future Islands will be the duo S U R V I V E, best known for their contributions to the Stranger Things soundtrack. Michael Stein and Mark Donica formed the electronic/synthwave band back in 2009 in Austin Texas. in 2017, they were nominated for Best Score Soundtrack.  Since 2011 they have released 9 albums.

The two groups will be playing at Pappy & Harriet’s on Thursday April, 20, a part of the Coachella Sideshow series.  Tickets are hot and moving quickly for this show, and if you’re a fan of both or just one, you’ll be sure to enjoy the experience in its entirety.
