John Kaada and Mike Patton, also known on stage as Kaada/Patton, have officially released their video for their track “Red Rainbow” from their recent Bacteria Cult release earlier this year.
Steeping in mystery and a strong sense of whimsical adventure, the video is based on a short film titled “The Absence Of Eddy Table” and directed by Rune Spaans, where he visualizes a world that captures a curious place between where dreams and nightmares intertwine.
The video involved many different collaborators coming together for the making of this short film. Written and designed by Dave Cooper and produced by Eric Vogel of Tordenfilms. The films score is provided by Kaada/Patton, who received inspiration by the progress of the visuals on screen, and created an emotional tether to the project.
Patton plays Eddy Table, while Norwegian actress Ingrid Bolsø Berdal is Snip. In addition to voicing the lead roles, Patton and Berdal each also contributed voices for a myriad of other characters for the film.
Much of the music that is heard in the film is refined and expanded upon material that Kaada’s initial ideas in the album work. Kaada and Patton leave their indelible impression of esoteric curiosity and innovation on the album. As previously stated by Patton himself, John Kaada’s “orchestral arrangements for this project are harmonically dense and delicious”. High hopes for more things to come.
