Long time British rock band and leader of the “Shoegazing” scene in England during in the late 1980s/early 90s, Ride, has just announced a five show tour for the Summer of 2017. The band will head to Toronto, Boston, New York, Philly, and DC for their slew of headline performances. The short tour will begin on July 7 in Toronto, ON at the Massey Hall and conclude in Washington, DC at the Sixth & I on July 23. For a full list of tour dates and ticketing information, see below.
This is the first major tour announcement from Ride since their initial reunion show in 2014 that was followed by a slue of sold out headline shows, including big festival appearances at Coachella, Field Day and Primavera Sound. The new tour announcement is also in accompaniment with the release of new music last week that ended a 20 year silence in new material from the band. The reunited band released the song “Charm Assault” initially and followed with “Home Is A Feeling” a day later. These two tracks are part of the bands upcoming album that is scheduled for a release sometime this summer. The currently untitled album will be released via Wichita Recordings and it will reunited the group with label co-founders Dick Green and Mark Bowen. The two have worked with the band in the past during their early years as part of Creation Records. The new work has also brought Ride back together with the mixer Alan Moulder, of their seminal 1990 album Nowhere and follow up album Going Blank Again. Moulder has worked with bands such as Arctic Monkeys, Smashing Pumpkins and The Killers.
