Soundgarden have announced Spring 2017 tour with The Pretty Reckless and The Dillinger Escape Plan to open on select dates. The Seattle-native Grunge pioneers will kick off their hosted tour on April 28 in Tampa, Florida at the WXTV Rockfest. The band will then find themselves rocking through an expansive 18 different cities in the US and 14 different states. The tour will end after a performance at Rocklahoma on May27 at Pryer, Oklahomoa. For a full list of tour dates, ticketing information and the tour’s poster, see below.

Iconic frontman Chris Cornell has just toured with his grunge super group, Temple of the Dog, known infamously for their only album released as tribute to the late Mother Love Bone frontman, Andrew Wood. The band consists of surviving Mother Love Bone members and current founding Pearl Jam members Jeff Ament and Stone Gossard, with current Pearl Jam and Soundgarden drummer, Matt Cameron and Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready. Eddie Vedder, Pearl Jam Frontman, has also lent his contributing vocals to certain songs on the album, including its most famous song, “Hunger Strike.”

Soundgarden, a band whose talent was shadowed by a split at the apex of their fame, first reunited in 2010. It only took the band two years to re-hatch old chemistry and release their 2012 comeback album, King Animal. According to Pitchfork, work is currently being done on King Animal’s follow up with no official release date set. Soundgarden will also be reissuing their debut full-length studio album, Ultramega OK, next month.

Ryan Fricke: Music is my therapy, which I could not function without. I am currently finishing my senior year a Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers, Florida with a Journalism major and a Creative Writing Minor. I first realized I wanted to become a Music Journalist the minute I learned that I could get paid to do the two things I love most, writing and listening to music. I have yet to decide which I am more infatuated with but for the time being I will happily house them to their stalemate. My plans after graduation are unclear but I hope to further gain experience in this profession.
