According to E! Online, Beyonce has dropped out of her Saturday headlining slot at Coachella 2017. It does not come as a huge surprise, as the pop diva recently announced she is pregnant with not one, but two children and the festival falls right around the time she is expected to be giving birth. The decision came due to doctor’s orders. For fans of Coachella and Queen Bey, not all hope is lost – she has agreed to headline the 2018 iteration of the festival.
There is no official word how far along in the singer is in her pregnancy, though speculators have pegged her to be in the second trimester. Of course, pregnancy didn’t stop her from delivering a tour-de-force performance at the 2017 Grammy Awards earlier this month. In fact, she planned on going ahead with her set but deferred to her doctor. She announced her pregnancy via Instagram, essentially making the internet go bonkers for a few days.
The news was first announced on the Coachella Facebook page:
The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival 2017 will feature plenty massive artists without the inclusion of pop’s biggest name. Artists like Lorde, Radiohead, The xx and many more will take part in the festival, which takes place on two weekends in April. The first weekend will run from April 14-16 and the second will be from April 21-23 at the Empire Polo Grounds in Indio, CA.
Stay tuned for any news of a replacement.
