Sondre Lerche is adorable. And, he is also Norwegian. And, and…the pseudo pop, really, rather, indie rock/singer-songwriter is back with the third single for his upcoming April 2017 record Pleasure.
The latest track “Violent Game” is a cute, yet dark meandering down the most “violent” game of them all: LOVE. And, it is a far cry from a majority of the artist’s earlier work. Paging the Dan In Real Life Soundtrack! Ooohs and Aaahs from Lerche are met with plugged in guitars, and interesting…and surprising loud drum beats. We are gushing. There is even an allusion to vampires; blood-sucking love never sounded so good.
Violent Game comes in sequence to earlier tracks “I’m Always Watching You” and “Soft Feelings”. And, according to Consequence of Sound, “Whatever it is he’s trying to escape, it’s keeping us more attached to his music than ever.” We here at MXDWN couldn’t agree more. Keep on with the distortion, Sondre.
Kiss kiss…
