Brighton, England electronic trio Fujiya & Miyagi are back, and better than ever. The group shares news via Brooklyn Vegan of plans for an April 7th release, for their anticipated “self-titled” LP. With that said, F&M give fans and listeners alike a little something to nibble on over the next few months by way of their new single “Solitaire”.
The single is a sexy-ish dance track that probes at something a bit deeper; hidden, yet becoming increasingly more innate in human expectations and societal behaviors. Frontman David Best says, “The album is a really strong resistance to societies compulsion to suck the energy out of everything. It’s a really good thing to provide an antidote to all the scary stuff that is going on, even if it’s just for 5 minutes.”
Solitaire, even if it is just shy of four-minutes long, does indeed succeed in bringing something much more compelling, as promised by Best. Energy oozes from the seams of the sonic demeanor brought out in the track. And, more importantly, Solitaire leaves many on the edge of their seats to hear more from this killer group of musical renegades!
