English electronic duo Goldfrapp just released visuals for the first single, “Anymore,” from their upcoming album Silver Eye, which will drop this March 31.
Lead vocalist Alison Goldfrapp was the creative force behinds the visuals on the album and was also crucial in directing the visuals and aesthetics for the video.
The setting of the video takes place on a desolate volcanic island, with rocky, volcanic mountains and bare stretches of sand and ash, providing the backdrop for some aggressive and striking choreography to create a contrast of visuals. The island also helps create a contrast with the song itself, with the heavy metallic synthesizers pounding against the serene and desolate landscape.
According to Alison, the island was the perfect setting for creating the video.
“The ‘Anymore’ video was shot on the strange and beautiful island of Fuerteventura. I love the volcanic rock and dunes.”
If the video (check it out below) was enough to pique your interest, be sure to keep an eye on their upcoming album Silver Eye out March 31.
