Dirty Projectors have released a new single titled “Cool Your Heart” featuring vocals from experimental dance-R&B artist D∆WN and was co-written by Solange. The song premiered on Zane Lowe’s show on Beats 1, and the Dirty Projectors have shared the video:
The new song is the fourth single from Dirty Projectors’ upcoming self-titled LP which is due out February 24 via Domino. Previous singles from the new album include “Keep Your Name,” “Little Bubble,” and “Up in Hudson.” The long-awaited 7th LP will be out February 24, 2017, on Domino.
The deluxe edition double LP will be available exclusively through the Domino Mart and is pressed on 150g clear with black smoke vinyl with an etched D side and housed in a wide spine jacket with a 16-page 11×11 libretto. The first pressing of the CD features an O-card sleeve with a 16-page libretto.
According to a press release, “Cool Your Heart” was written during breaks from sessions for Solange’s album and is an anthem against co-dependency and about feeling cool by yourself. Tyondai Braxton contributed additional production, and Mauro Refosco provided the percussion. The clip was directed by Noel Paul & Stefan Moore and features Longstreth and D∆WN in a time-twisting nighttime tableau.
