The British rock band is on tour once again with Underoath and Beartooth hitting shows in Canada, Australia, New Zealand and right here in our backyard of Los Angeles. They’ll be at the Shrine Auditorium on April 6 and with them will be their progressive rock and metal blasting vocals, hard hitting drums and infuriatingly melodic guitar riffs.
The band originated in 2004 when the members were just 15-17 and heavily influenced by American metalcore bands such as Norma Jean and Skycamefalling. The name, coming from the final line of the film Pirates of the Caribbean when Captain Jack Sparrow says “Now bring me the horizon.” The band wasted zero time recording and releasing their first EP “This is What The Edge of Your Seat is Made For” in the just the first few weeks of officially becoming BMTH.
The band has been met with both critical acclaim and faced public controversy which in a sense, is as rock and roll as you can get, solidifying their place in music and more specifically, rock and roll. In 2016 BMTH reached a milestone as it marked the first time they played with a live orchestra, which was conducted by Simon Dobson, at the Royal Albert Hall in London. The performance was recorded and was made available on DVD, CD, and vinyl with all of the proceeds going towards the Teenage Cancer Trust.
