Doom Metal band Pallbearer promise epic heaviness to come. The Little Rock, Arkansas foursome just released the single “Thorns” along with the announced March 24th release of the studio album Heartless. If Heartless, the album, is anything like Thorns, the song, then headbangers alike will have plenty of post music-listening, neck-straining kinks to ask their girlfriends to work out for them (i.e. Pallbearer’s new single will melt minds).
Out on Profound Lore, the new record according to the quintet, “as evidenced by this new song, Pallbearer have fused their widest musical palette to date and make the kind of heavy rock that will appeal to diehards, but could also find the group crossing over into newer territories. The band offers a complex sonic architecture on Heartless that weaves together the spacious exploratory elements of classic prog, the raw anthemics of 90’s alt-rock, and stretches of black-lit proto-metal. Lyrics about mortality, life, and love are set to sharp melodies and pristine three-part harmonies.
