Young the Giant @ Stubbs 2/10 & 11

Alternative pop/rock heavyweights Young the Giant initially formed in Irvine, California in 2004. Since their formation, the group has undergone extensive roster variations, and later went on to change their name from The Jakes, in 2009. As Young the Giant, the five-piece group has attained much success, boasting three studio albums and two gold certified singles.

Prior to 2010, Young the Giant was known by the name, The Jakes–Jacob Tilley (guitar, synths) and Sameer Gadhia (lead vocals, guitar) being the only original members in the current line-up. Throughout their years as The Jakes, Young the Giant dealt with many members who, sort of filtered in and out of the band. Despite their constant changes, The Jakes did have some success with their music, which was featured on hit shows like MTV’s The Real World and CW’s The Beast. It was after the groups major label signing to Roadrunner Records, when they decided it was time for something different, and thus, Young the Giant was born. In 2010, they released their debut album Young the Giant, and haven’t looked back since.

Due to popular demand, Young the Giant will play two back to back shows at Stubbs next month on the 10th and 11th.
