Punk rock Hall of Famers Green Day are making their way up to Oakland this summer! They will be headlining their Radio Revolution tour alongside openers Catfish and the Bottlemen when they play the Oakland Coliseum in August. The boys will be touring North America all summer long so here’s your chance if your gonna be in the bay this summer.
Green Day has been one of the punk-rock bands at the forefront of the genre’s movement to the mainstream. The trio started back in 1986 and has been turning out power hits ever since. Recently, the band dropped their twelfth (12!) album, Radio Revolution in 2016. That album is responsible for the hit songs Still Breathing, Bang Bang, and Radio Revolution. Previous to that, the band’s other twelve (I mean that is an impressive number of albums) albums have almost all had radio and critical acclaimed hits. Their most recognizable songs are Basketcase and When I Come Around from their 1994 album Dookie, everyone’s favorite graduation song Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) from their 1997 album Nimrod. Although, as you can see previously they had already hit it big, but once 2004 rolled around Green Day hit gold with their album American Idiot. That album is responsible for most of the band’s monster hits like American Idiot, Wake Me Up When September Ends, and Holiday/Boulevard of Broken Dreams. Not only did this album break the band into the main mainstream, but it also produced a grammy for the Best Rock Album in 2005, a broadway play, and renewed mainstream success. Afterward, the band continues to roll out hits like 21 Guns, Know Your Enemy, and their album anthology Uno!, Dos!, Tre!.
Green Day is one of those bands that have helped shape pop-culture, they are iconic. This is your chance! Hit click and you’ll easily have a great story for years to come about how they kicked ass in Oakland that one time in the summer of 2017. Come hang at the Coliseum and watch these hall of famers put on a show to remember.
