Punk just had a beautiful revival, or perhaps…a dark, disturbing sayans. Whatever the weather, three of the genre’s most sought after groups unleashed mayhem (aka pure Rock ‘N’ Roll bliss) with a 10-inch split record to welcome in 2017.
The 10-inch, High Desert Overdose, features 1980’s legends, the Melvins and Red Kross. Both bands were fundamental in the rise of the Los Angeles punk scene. The two teamed together, along with the super-group OFF! (Keith Morris, Dimitri Coats, Steven Shane McDonald, and Mario Rubalcaba), to re-release retrospective tracks from both the Red Kross and OFF!’s catalogs, along with re-workings of Melvins frontman, Buzz Osbourne’s solo record, This Machine Kills Artists, backed by the current Melvins line-up. According to Punk News, “The release is out for the three bands’ New years Show via Amphetamine Reptile.”
