Summer Moon @ The Troubadour 3/27

The music and arts collective known as Summer Moon made quite a splash in September of 2016 with the release of their first single With You Tonight.  If the sci-fi punk-dance sound and music feels familiar, your 6th sense isn’t lying to you.  This New York “underground supergroup” has been put together by the Stroke’s bassist and writer, Nikolai Fraiture, who recruited Stephen Perkins (from Jane’s Addiction) on drums, Camila Grey (Uh Huh Her) on key/ vocals and Noah Harmon (The Airborne Toxic Event) on guitar.

Summer Moon sounds just like it’s name suggests as the vocals waft over you like a warm breeze with the drums setting the rhythm of your heart as you walk and hand in hand with your summer crush, the guitar and keys shining from above, peering through the tree-tops and reflecting off of the serine lake lighting the path ahead.  It’s a fine transition from genre on to the next just as the seasons would transition from one to the other.  Making their sound delightful and inviting whether it’s being played in the background during dinner or inspiring us to dance with the stars shining in our eyes, reflecting dreams and happiness.

Summer Moon will be giving Los Angelenos a show at the Troubadour in the middle of winter that’ll be sure to warm everyone up on the dance floor.  So far the band has garnered accolades from numerous publications such as Rolling Stone, Pitchfork and Vice, just to name a few.  Be on the look out for more new music and album from Summer Moon this year.  It’s sure to be a sound thats refreshing familiar and familiarly futuristic.
