WATCH: Mark Lanegan and Duff McKagen Perform Cover of Guns ‘N Roses’ “It’s So Easy”

While the circumstances surrounding the performances at hand come via tragic news—the message remains clear: the music community sticks together, and exists in part as an individual artist and as a collective. One that rides it through the thick and thin all together.

A few nights back, December 13th to be exact, a benefit concert at the Teragram Ballroom in Los Angeles was held for Afghan Whigs, Twilight Singers, and Gutter Twins member Dave Rosser, who was recently diagnosed with inoperable colon cancer. What follows in the evening’s somber, yet nevertheless rock’n’roll by nature’s events was a night for attendees most likely never to be forgotten.

Guns N’ Roses bassist Duff Mckagan and former Screaming Trees and Queens of The Stone Age member Mark Lanegan commingled during the GT set for a chilling ensemble set and awe-inducing rendition of the GNR track “It’s So Easy”. Footage taken from the audience is available for all to view, and in essence features one really bitchin’ guitar solo and a whole lot of onstage, musical chemistry.

…And in case things couldn’t possibly be anymore breathtaking…Josh Homme, ring leader of Queens of The Stone Age and former Them Crooked Vultures member held down a what appears to be a full house at the Teragram, with a solo performance of the TCV song “Spinning in The Daffodils”. The performance showcases Homme’s unbelievable gift for music and live performance. Fans of Homme gush as the musician casually achieves perfect harmony between his vocals and his guitar. Homme’s massive all-male super fans, of which there are several squirm in delight, all of their girlfriends will now too. Notably, Alternative Nation adds, “Them Crooked Vultures, which also featured Dave Grohl and John Paul Jones, released their lone self-titled album in 2009. The band last performed live on July 30, 2010 at the Fuji Rock Festival.”
