The Colours of Ostrava Music Festival, or simply Colours, has just announced its 2017 lineup, sporting a diverse set of artists, staying true to the festival’s reputation as one of Central Europe’s largest multi-genre music festival, and the Czech Republic’s largest festival.
The event, held every summer in the center of Ostrava, will be marking its 16th year with performances from Imagine Dragons, Alt-J (∆), Norah Jones, Laura Mvula, and more.
Colours features 16 stages including 4 big open-air stages (with one of the stages holding an impressive 15,000 people), 6 indoor stages, a theatre stage, a workshop stage, a kids stage, a cinema and live discussions. The festival will be held to the “Entrancing surroundings of Dolní Vítkovice – an area that used to belong to metallurgical works, mines and ironworks.”
The festival website boasts that it includes more than 350 programme items, from concerts to theatre, films, workshops, discussions, and art/design.
Until 2012 Colours took place in the well-known Silesian Ostrava Castle entertainment district and on the Černá louka Fairgrounds, as well as at other places in the city centre. The audience attendance for Colours is approximately 30,000 people and it was the first festival in the Czech Republic to be sold out one month ahead of time.
Four day tickets are available at €88.08 ($92.23); you can buy tickets here.
