San Antonio rock n rollers, The Rich Hands, got their start as mutual high school friends, who just wanted to play music. Luckily, their passion for music led to a career for the young trio. The Rich Hands consist of frontman Cody Mauser, Matt Gonzales, and Nick Ivarra. Each member has influences that range anywhere from Black Sabbath to Pink Floyd and The Beatles– evident in the bands fuzzy, rock n roll infused sound. After being followed on Twitter by Fountain Records, the group decided to try their luck by sending a demo to the label, and were signed shortly after.
Through Fountain Records, the group released the 2013 debut studio album, Dreamers. The Rich Hands found success, touring nationwide, and playing popular festivals such as SXSW and– the recently defunct — CMJ. Their sophomore effort, 2014’s Out of Head, is available for streaming and purchase on Bandcamp, as well as their previous work. A single for the album, “Teenagers,” debut on Impose Magazine, and featured sporadic clips of 1950’s teens, fitting the bands established sound.
