The xx kicked off the first leg of their European tour last night at Bocarski Dom Zagreb, Croatia. Notably, the electro-pop group debuted two new songs live, entitled “Brave For You” and “Performance” respectively.
Despite poor audio quality, “Brave For You” and “Performance” clearly keep with the band’s established aesthetic, merging down-tempo beats and bold synths with lilting vocals. Find fan-footage of the two new tracks below.
In addition to the newly debuted tracks, The xx performed “On Hold” and “I Dare You”, two recent singles which they previously performed during their Saturday Night Live debut earlier this month. The 18-song set additionally included fan-favorite tracks “Angels”, “VCR”, and “Crystalised”, and Jamie xx covers “Loud Places”, “Stranger in a Room”, and a special version of “Gosh” mixed with the 2009 xx cut “Shelter”.
The xx’s last album, 2012’s Coexist, received broad acclaim. They’ve released two LP’s in total, and are set to release third album I See You on January 13, 2016.
Yesterday, The xx shared the video for “On Hold.” The Alasdair McLellan directed video depicts adolescent culture in Marfa, Texas, where the band recorded portions of the album.
내가 이러려고 자그레브에 왔다!!!!!!!! 으아아아아아아….영원히 품겠읍니다. #Thexx #그xx
