The Power of the Riff has officially announced the final acts for the LA based festival. The festival confirmed the addition of Incantation, Obliterations, Kowloon Walled City, Necrot, Lies, and Crypt Rot. The event is a two day festival on December 17th and 18th. The festival will continue to bring a diverse roster of heavy music all in one place. Each night of The Power of the Riff will feature new artists of underground music including international and brand new acts.
On the Saturday of the event, one of the headlining sets will feature the Cascadian metal artists, Wolves in the Throne Room which will be their first appearance in Los Angeles in years. The death metal band Incantation will perform along with Pelican giving us a flavor of Chicago metal. This will be the debut performance of the hardcore group Bloodclot featuring John Joseph (Cro-Mags), Todd Youth (Warzone, Murphy’s Law), Joey C. (Queens Of The Stone Age, B’last), and Nick Oliveri (Queens Of The Stone Age, Dwarves). In addition to these acts, Gag the punk band will perform along with Oakland’s death metal kings Necrot, and Ohio’s newcomers and recent addition to Southern Lord, Crypt Rot.
Sunday will mostly be dominated by Neurosis who are coming on a special run to LA just to headline the festival. The metal trio Nails is back with their first live performance since the band went on hiatus a few months ago. More acts will consist of the Bay Area act Kowloon Walled City, along with Arizona’s Gatecreeper, Los Angele’s very own hardcore rockers Obliterations, and Southern Lord’s signed group Lies.
