It is not only American musicians that have been sharing their thoughts and reactions to the recent presidential results, reactions from all over have been pouring in the masses. Melbourne singer-songwriter Courtney Barnett played show last night at The Ogden Theatre in Denver, CO, and according to Pitchfork, the performance had a little extra thrown in at the end that might have had a little inspiration from the elections peppered in.

As Barnett was closing out her set, she decided it was time to share her opinion in the form of a cover song, playing Dan Kelly & The Alpha Males track “Drunk On Election Night”, taken off the band’s 2006 Drowning in the Fountain of Youth LP.

The video seems to be shot on someone’s cellphone camera, but all it features is the singer on stage alone, with her guitar, and going into the song. As the performance goes on and she gets to the chorus, the crowd joins her in unison singing “just to get away from that c*** sucking, motherf*****” in obvious reference to Donald Trump. The lyrics go on to suggest what people were saying before the results, moving away from the country to a place that is more suitable.

It was a very cute performance, she used her platform as a way to deliver her opinion on the election matters, and the crowd seemed to have enjoyed it.  From what it looks like, it does not seem like the musical community is as thrilled with the results as the rest of the country, they continue to share their dismay, and use their art to express the disappointment they feel.
