According to Pitchfork, longtime English electronic group The Orb, featuring Alex Peterson and Thomas Fehlmann, who most recently released their Chill, out World! album last month and finished a small Fall tour, are going to be releasing a new documentary Lunar Orbit, which follows the duo as they tell the story behind the creation of their previous album Moonbuilding 2703 AD.
Lunar Orbit, directed by Patrick Buchanan, is a thrilling behind-the-scenes journey following Peterson and Fehlmann in Berlin as they record their album that year. Taking the viewers into the studios of the iconic EDM band, providing interviews with the duo, plus many other DJ’s giving insight into The Orb’s music style and how they are one of the more revolutionary sounds in the scene. The movie also will provide a look into the duo performing live in the local clubs in Berlin, giving a up close and personal view as to what their shows are like.
Two trailers for the film were released in order to get their fans, as well as those unfamiliar with The Orb, excited, and provide a little taste of what is to come in the movie. The first tralier is a preview of the interviews, small snippets of the club scenes with the two performing, and an quick inside look as to what their studio sessions looked like.
The second trailer, which is also entitled the “Heaven Teaser”, gives an inside look into one of the iconic venues that The Orb performed in called Heaven, with interviews by DJ’s giving insight as to how the beginnings of the group happened and where they got their inspiration.
The film is set to premiere at the Doc ‘n Roll Film Festival in London on November 11th.
