The Strokes Announce They Are Working On A New Album

Guitarist for The Strokes, Nick Valensi, promptly shared to fans that they’re composing a new album. In spite of presenting a three-track EP last June titled, Future, Present, Past; The Stokes haven’t released a full-length album in three years. Allegedly, this EP track is a representation of what they did sound like, what they sound like now and what they will sound like. For instance, the track “OBLIVIUS”, had a more classic “Strokes” tone to the song. While, the track “Drag-Queen” seemed consciously diverse and cultured (the future).

Their last album, Comedown Machine, debuted in 2013. They had various hits on this album from “Tap Out”, “Welcome to Japan” and “80s Comedown Machine”. In the midst of dropping their last album, the band went missing in action for a while. Amongst all of the commotion of releasing Comedown Machine, they declined all interviews and TV appearances.

Originating from New York City, this band has managed to keep fans guessing about their pending album. Once again , Nick Valensi said in an interview, “I don’t know when it’s going to be released, we’re kind of just in writing sessions. We’re writing.” In that same interview he mentioned, “If I start saying a lot now, people get too excited. Then there’s all this hype you’ve got to compete with, and that’s not fun. If anything, I’d rather just pull a Beyoncé at some point next year and just drop shit.” Referring to Beyoncé’s approach to dropping her album Lemonade, surprising her fans with the ability to stream the entire album on Tidal without releasing any singles or advertising beforehand.However, Valensi did mention, “Some point next year.”

Meanwhile, Nick Valensi has been engrossed with looming business of his own. This fall, CRX, a Los Angeles based band is pairing with Columbia Records for the launch of their first album New Skin. New Skin will consist of ten tracks. Ranging from “Ways To Fake It”, “Give It Up”, “Broken Bones” and so on. The quintuple begins with Nick Valensi as vocals and leading guitarist. Accompanied by, Darian Zahedi on guitar, Jon Safley on bass, Ralph Alexander on drums and Richie James on the keyboard. Furthermore, CRX has acquired Andrew Scheps as the mixer of the album. Scheps is notorious for working with big names such as, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Green Day and Adele. Subsequent Rock Band, CRX, has gained a promising reputation
