Temple of the Dog Consider Making New Music

Legendary Seattle supergroup, Temple Of The Dog, has announced that they have not ruled out recording new music and might be working on new material at this very moment.

TOTD, which is comprised of singer Chris Cornell, bassist Jeff Ament, and guitarist Mike McCready formed the group back in 1991 as a tribute to the late Mother Love Bone frontman Andrew Wood, who passed away due to a heroin overdose the year before. Back then the group featured several members of Soundgarden and a new group which would eventually transform into Pearl Jam. Over the last few years Temple Of The Dog has performed occasionally here and there, not really showcasing what their fans were used to back in the day.

According to Blabbermouth, this might change very soon, with the band discussing recording new music once again. Cornell spoke to Rolling Stone, saying “There’s always a chance. Just from my perspective, it would have to feel great. I don’t want to say it would have to live up to the album, but I wouldn’t want to take away from it. I don’t want to detract from what happened before.” McCready had commented to Classic Rock that he would “record new songs in a minute,” if given the opportunity. Ament also made comments to add to what Cornell bringing up their last record”That record is so unique in terms of what initiated it — but I love recording, so I’d always be up for it, I think.”

Luckily for fans, the band has decided it’s time to hit the road and have signed up for a short tour over the next month in support of the reissue album that was released on September 30th. Hitting only five cities on this run, Ament stated that it won’t be the last time you will see the artists collectively on stage “If everyone is excited, it might become a thing we do every once in a while. We can call each other up and say, ‘Hey, we just got an offer to play London,’ or something. That would be fun.”
