Today, Toronto-based hardcore band Fucked Up released 45 minutes of music – on two tracks.
In standard Fucked Up fashion, the two-track EP This Mother Forever was a surprise to fans. Their last release came back in December 2015 with the song “Our Own Blood,” and since then, they had kept quiet about when they would release any new music. “Our Own Blood” is the second track on This Mother Forever, a largely experimental track clocking in 30-minutes in length. With some quick elementary math, you probably already deduced that track one, “This Mother Forever” is 15 minutes. It adds to the experimental and improvisational themes of track 2. It’s largely an instrumental song, and its length gives room for creative space and nuance.
