Electro-pop trio Chvrches is set to perform at Hollywood Forever Cemetery. The band is made up of Lauren Mayberry, Martin Doherty, and Iain Cook. Before they officially formed in 2011, Mayberry had been a member of the band Blue Sky Archives, Cook had been producing for Blue Sky and was simultaneously working with Doherty. Mayberry was then asked to sing for some of the tracks. Over time the group quickly realized what they had and decided to form a band themselves. The band they formed is none other than Chvrches pronounced like churches. They have previously stated the name has no religious ties, and is spelled with a “v” to differentiate in regards to online searches.
Their songs have been featured in popular films including Hunger Games, Grey’s Anatomy, Vampire Diaries, and many more. It seems the 80’s vibe/ synth pop sound has amounted to huge amount of success. Check out their unique sound down below:
