WATCH: Prophets Of Rage Release New Video For “Prophets Of Rage”

Rap-rock supergroup Prophets of Rage recently premiered a video for previously released eponymous track “Prophets of Rage”. The group released “Prophets of Rage” in July, and released their debut EP The Party’s Over in August.

The three-minute video features live, heavily edited footage of performances at NORCO Penitentiary, the Republican National Convention, and Skid Row. Performance footage is interspersed with crowd reactions, creating an immersive atmosphere. And despite the overall derivativeness of the supergroup’s music, the video showcases their live prowess. Chuck D, B-Real, and members Rage Against the Machine unsurprisingly perform with high intensity and passion, belying their increasing age.

“Prophets of Rage” itself is a reimaging of the Public Enemy track by the same name, featuring an additional verse from B-Real and live instrumentation from Rage Against the Machine. The track was the supergroup’s first ever single. The band notably performed the single on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Prophets of Rage has consistently toured since August in support of their EP, and will continue to tour for the foreseeable future. Their remaining scheduled dates are all within the US. The group has yet to announce whether they will continue to produce new music following the culmination their current tour.
