Fear Factory is currently on their 2015/2016 tour to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their sophomore album Demanufacture. On this tour, as well as their 2013 Australian tour, the group has played Demanufacture in its entirety. The album is said to be their most defining work and critics have considered it a landmark album in alternative metal.
The group plans to honor the 20th anniversary of their album Obsolete, their biggest selling album, as well. Obsolete is their only record to receive RIAA certification. The record went gold and sent the band into the Billboard 200 for the first time.
Guitarist Dino Cazares confirmed the Obsolete plans stating “For sure, 100 percent, it will happen…2018 is the anniversary, but we might start a little earlier [with the Obsolete shows] than that, we’ll see.” he added “That was our biggest record by far and I think it’s going to draw a lot of people.”
In addition to the tour confirmation, Dino also revealed that the group has a new album on the way. The album will be in the works once the touring cycle to 2015’s Genexus is over. Dino anticipates it will be out by next year.
