Radiohead Announce Pathway To Paris Live Album Featuring Flea and Patti Smith For July 2016 Release

Last December Radiohead’s Thom Yorke performed at Pathway To Paris, a benefit concert for UN Climate Change Conference. It has now been announced that select performances from the event will be released as a live album coming out Wednesday, July 27.

The Pathway To Paris album features music from Yorke, Patti Smith, Flea, Warren Ellis, Fally Ipupa, Tenzin Choegyal, Jesse Paris Smith, and Rebecca Foon, plus talks by Bill McKibben, Naomi Klein, Vandana Shiva, and Jo Scheuer.

Live at Le Trianon, The Pathway To Paris album can be purchased here. All proceeds go to 350.org and the UNDP.

Thom Yorke played a solo set of Radiohead songs, including the debut of A Moon Shaped Pool tracks “The Numbers” (then called “Silent Spring”) and “Desert Island Disk.”

In other news, Radiohead has been keeping busy this year. Back in May, they released their ninth studio album, A Moon Shaped Pool, six years after their last album. They also announced live shows for the first time since 2012. It seems the English rock band is on a roll this year.

The group focused heavily on art and visuals throughout the promotion of A Moon Shaped Pool. You can see the effort in video’s “Burn The Witch” and “Daydreaming.”

While on the road, promoting their latest album at one record store in Istanbul, Turkey an event that should’ve been all fun suddenly became a terrifying and violent attack on the attendees. The attack occurred around 11:00 PM local time at a record store called Velvet Indieground. An group of men entered the store and began vandalizing and assaulting those in attendance. Read more about it here.

The event didn’t seem to trump their enthusiasm. The band is still on tour at the moment, playing sold out shows. Looks like most tickets are not available, but fans are still anxious for any extra tickets to be released to the public, be on the lookout here.

Below, watch Yorke’s piano version of “Bloom”.

Also, watch a take on “People Have the Power” by Patti Smith and Friends, which includes Yorke, Flea, Tony Shanahan, Warren Ellis, and others.
