Australian psychedelic dance band Jagwar Ma (lead vocalist and guitar, Gabriel Winterfeild and multi-instrumentalist and producer, Jono Ma), are back, along with bassist Jack Freeman.
Jagwar Ma announces new album, Every Now & Then via Mom + Pop Music. It is set for release in this fall, according to the video released on YouTube by Jagwar. This will be a follow-up to their impressive 2013 debut album, Howlin.
According to Pitchfork, the band’s Gabriel Winterfield said that the song is about “moving through the motions of life under the influence of lost love, the fear of letting go of the past when not having anything set in place in the future to hold on to.” Jono Ma added that the song was “designed for nocturnal road trips and foraging through forests for morning fresh champignons.”
The announcement of the album is followed by the video for the album’s first single “OB1,” which features Stella Mozgawa of Warpaint on drums. The video also features footage from Jagwar Ma’s tour with Tame Impala earlier this year. Watch video below.
Jagwar Ma are keeping up with their current trend of rocking fetivals and are on the road for the rest of the year including making appearances at this years Los Angles’s FYF Festival, UK’s Green Man Festival, Texas’s Sound on Sound Fest, and Seattle’s Bumbershoot.
