After nearly 6 years of pursuing personal projects by the members of infamous pop punk group P.S. Eliot, Twins Katie, who started the indie band Waxahatchee, and Allison Crutchfield, who formed alternative group Swearin’, announced that they are coming back together this upcoming fall for a 6-date reunion tour in the US. With the announcement earlier this year from Don Giovanni Records for its Asury Park’s New Alternative Music Festival, revealing the exciting news that P.S Eliot will be reuniting for the festival.
Brooklyn Vegan reported that right before the festival occurs, P.S. Eliot will perform another reunion show in Brooklyn, NY on September 15th at the Mark Hotel. The band will be joined by Montreal post-punk group Ought, and Brooklyn Punks Aye Nako, who will both be at the New Alt Music Fest as well, and Adult Mom joining everyone too.
The twins have been very busy as of late with their side projects, Katie’s band Waxahatchee is reissuing early material for the upcoming EP Early Recordings, which will be released in June via Merge, accompanied with a full tour, leaving her only a month before the reunion with her sister and their first band.
This show, as well as the NAMF show, are part of the six-date reunion tour that P.S. Eliot intends to go on during the month of September. However, in order to support the upcoming tour and get fans excited, the band has decided to release a 50-song archival set 2007-2011 via Don Giovanni. The set will include a 2xCD anthology that gathers the group’s two LPs, their live LP Living in Squalor 7, as well as a collection of demos and home recordings the group made, all of which have been digitally remastered for peak quality. Included in the mail-order copies will also be a limited-edition zine with the oral history of the band, assembled by Liz Pelly. This set will be released on September 2nd.
P.S. Eliot’s comeback will be a sight to see as they have not performed together for so long. Tears will be shed by fans all around who have missed the band’s music all these years.
