Paste Magazine reports, alternative rock kings, Radiohead, who are intending on kicking off their world tour in order to support their newest studio album A Moon Shaped Pool, have revealed the tour’s supporting acts that will join the legends on stage. The new tour will start its journey in Amsterdam on May 20th, and ends on Oct 9th after their performances in Austin City Limits Music Festival.
The idea that Radiohead is going on tour is exciting enough as it is, but adding these new, up and coming, avant-garde, performers puts the entire concept on a whole new level of insanity. First to be revealed to the public is American composer, and musician, Holly Herndon, who came out with a brand new album entitled Platform, and looks to bring her haunting, but intricate, brand of music. Herndon will be joining Radiohead on stage for most of the band’s Europe stops, sending them back to the US after an epic show in Lyon, FR.

Next to be revealed as support for the band was Dawn of MIDI, the American acoustics ensemble who will be bringing their unique style of dance-able subversions of jazz. The group will be joining Thom York, and Radiohead, at the infamous Madison Square Garden Arena, in NYC.

Lastly, it would not be a authentic Radiohead tour unless there was a real surprise addition to the already stacked lineup. The final group to be announced, that will be joining the band on stage at their Los Angeles shows in July, at the Shrine Auditorium, is popularly growing hip-hop duo, Shabazz Palace from Seattle, WA. Showcasing their talents in the experimental hip-hop realm that may just fuse perfectly with the feelings the band is trying to express on this tour.
