The second weekend of Coachella 2016 is upon us, and with it comes a couple of innovative streaming features, for all fans to enjoy.
The webcast for this weekend will feature a 360-degree live stream, instead of the traditional pro-shot style that is prevalent in most festivals and other live shows. Essentially, it allows the viewer to a more wide range of views, shifting the angles of the picture depending on how viewer moves their tablet or phone around. Surely, it can offer a different take on traditional concert footage, at one of the biggest festivals of the year no less.
Check out the full 360-degree live stream below:
In addition, YouTube has announced an equally interesting new feature, called “spatial audio” which presents audio at different levels based on the density, depth and distance of the live setting.
Needless to say, both of these features should give fans an immersive experience of the festival if they are not able to attend. It will be interesting to see how this technology presents itself for future festivals.
