Adding to the list of surprises and high profile performances at this year’s Coachella, was Kesha performing with EDM artist Zedd on Saturday.
The pop star is in the midst of a legal battle with her former producer, Dr. Luke, claiming that he sexually and emotionally abused her. Recently, a New York judge dismissed all of Kesha’s claims, and her contract with Sony was upheld.
The performance, which was her first one in months, allowed her to escape some of the difficulties with the trial, as she went through a rendition of Zedd’s “True Colors”. The fan reaction by all accounts was spectacular, and with as much support that Kesha has garnered since the beginning of the her lawsuit, the impact of her appearance was certainly felt throughout the audience.

Though the outcome of the Kesha’s legal disputes have not yet fallen in her favor, it doesn’t look like it will cause her to shy away from the public eye. It’s entirely likely that she will continue to be making music, even if her contractual situation isn’t the most preferable. If her performance at Coachella over the weekend was any indication, there will be many fans in the waiting for it.
Legal troubles aside, Kesha seems to be doing well, and more live appearances are probably on the horizon.
