British rock band, Band Of Skulls, have announced their new album By Default set to be released May 27th, 2016.

This will be the trio’s fourth studio album, and their first release since their last album, Himalayan, was released in 2014. The album will be released in various formats including digital download, vinyl and CD.

In talking about the new album, Russell Marsden of Band of Skulls contests that it will be different than their last albums. Moreover, Marsden states, “The first three records were like a trilogy, a piece of work in of themselves. We wanted to do those things, and we did them all. We took a breath, took a look at what we’d done, and started from scratch again,” making this record release that much more exciting.

Thus far, the band have released one single from the forthcoming album. The single, entitled “Killer”, is available to listen here.

The band was formed in Southampton in 2004. Band of Skulls consists of Russell Marsden, Emma Richardson, and Matt Hayward. Originally the band was named Fleeing New York, but in 2008 they renamed themselves to Band Of Skulls.

Their first studio album, Baby Darling Doll Face Honey, was released in 2009 and since then they have released a total of four studio albums, and two EPs. Their music has been featured in many television programs, video games and movie soundtracks including Friday Night Lights and The Twilight Saga: New Moon Soundtrack.
