Four days, six venues, and 80 newly announced artist, this is what awaits guests who plan to attend this year’s Neon Reverb Festival in Las Vegas, Nevada. This local music festival is back for its eighth annual installment and bringing four nights of fantastically named bands and hometown favorites. Recently revealed is the lineup for the festival, which boasts a strong local artist influenced list that includes bands like Ty Segall & The Muggers, Neon Indian, The Melvins, Tijuana Panthers and many many more acts to entertain all attendees. The Neon Reverb Festival kicks off its celebration March 10th and ends on March 13th in Downtown Las Vegas.

The Neon Reverb Music Festival debuted in September of 2008 and has undergone quite a growth spurt through its years. Moving from infancy to adulthood in quite a rapid fashion. It was founded by Thirry Harlin, James Woodbridge, and Jason Aragon, and the festival catered mostly to the indie rock crowd but kept experimenting with different genres such as hip-hop, punk rock, electronica, as well as other cultural related segments like film and visual art that would strongly compliment the music portion of the festival. Birthed from the festival was also a radio segment by the same name that was founded by Donald Hickey and Mark Stoermer, lead bassist for The Killers, and broadcasts throughout Vegas.

James Woodbridge stated “We’ve always tried to be really inclusive in terms of music, So even if, say, I don’t really know much about the punk scene, somebody does. Neon Reverb is a team effort, so different people at different times come onboard and become part of the team.”

One challenge that the founders tried to confront and overcome is the fact of venues being far away from each other, in attempts to maintain a festival vibe without shows being in such close proximity to each other like at other festivals, the founders facilitated mobility with the help of 18-passenger shuttle vans that would drive in a loop from venue to venue, transporting the sea of fans trying to catch their favorite performers, making show hopping just a little easier.

What is a guarantee to any guest attending this festival is that it will include a superb roster of acts, some of which who perform for free just in order to get exposure. Neon Reverb has a heightened sense of community that is not normally found in Las Vegas, it provides the feeling of safety, while still being super fun and exciting. Vegas just became a little more of a desired destination.
