Fresh off their successful night at the Grammy’s, Britney Howard-led band Alabama Shakes will headline the event. The band sophomore album Sound & Color and singles “Don’t Wanna Fight,” “Gimme All Your Love,” and “Sound & Color” have brought the band critical and commercial success, along with 3 Grammy awards. The Shakes and their new found popularity will be stopping at Buzz Beach Ball along their festival circuit this summer.
With the help of producer Dan Auerbach, Kentucky-based Cage the Elephant released Tell Me I’m Pretty. The band has adapted a bluesy, The Black Keys-inspired sound, which has brought the group its sixth number 1 single on the Billboard Alternative chart through lead-off single “Mess Around.”
Oxford-based indie group Glass Animals have been capturing the attention of fans and critic’s through their dreamy music accompanied by enticingly vague lyrics. Dave Bayley’s work is cerebral in a literal sense, much of his music is influenced by his studies in psychiatry and neuroscience. The group will take singles “Gooey” and “Black Mambo” to the stage this summer.
The festival will take place July 16-17 at Children’s Mercy Park. See the full lineup below.
