The Damned will be playing two upcoming Coachella Sideshows in the month of April. The first will be at the Glass house on April 20 and the second will be at The Roxy the following day on April 21. The gothic punk band has had quite the legacy taking shape since the group’s inception in 1976. Ever since then, the group’s humorous deadpan demeanor and stylish performances have cultivated a strong following. Their perennial punk rock focuses more on bringing a live show to life rather than just playing songs by the numbers.
Although the band has lacked a stable lineup, each incarnation builds on the foundation of the previous one to take gothic rock into a new direction each time. It’s no wonder the band has survived for so long through the years. In fact, in November 2012, The Damned were awarded the Classic Rock outstanding contribution award for services to Rock music over 36 years. Regardless of where the next years take them, long live The Damned!
